An old station, a new story
SODÓ found its home in one of Törökbálint’s historic buildings, a place that has seen many stories unfold over the years. The building once served as a suburban railway station, bringing people together and seeing them off, a place of meetings and farewells.
Today, we want to carry on that same spirit.
SODÓ is a meeting place.
A dream shared by two childhood friends
The story of SODÓ actually began many years ago.
We, Attila Dobóczi and Péter Sokorai, have known each other since childhood.
Attila has worked in hospitality for more than 25 years. Over the past decade, he has gained extensive experience as a restaurant manager at prestigious restaurants. For him, hospitality is not simply a job, but a calling.
Péter works in the film industry as a stunt performer and stunt coordinator. As a child, he dreamed of becoming a chef, but his parents eventually persuaded him to follow a different path. His passion for hospitality, however, has stayed with him ever since, making SODÓ the fulfilment of a long-held dream.
Together, we dreamed up this place.
Why SODÓ?
The name has several meanings for us.
On the one hand, sodó is a classic, simple sauce that brings flavours together.
On the other hand, the name was created from our surnames:
SOkorai + DObóczi
And that is how it became:
SODÓ
Because we believe the best things happen when people come together.
With heart and soul
Every detail of SODÓ has been created with one simple idea in mind: to make it the kind of place we ourselves would love to arrive at as guests.
Genuine.
Welcoming.
Without unnecessary fuss.
We hope that the moment you step inside, you will feel it too.
